Training Program for Day Trips

Embarkation

Location: from either Jumbo Pier at Shum Wan Pier Drive or Aberdeen Ocean Court Pier
Time: 09:30 am
(Participants have to take a sampan from the pier to the nearby mooring location of the training vessel. The cost for taking a sampan to our ship is about $5 - 8 per person per trip)

Morning Session :

>	Introduction to the vessel < JC Huan >
>	Goals Setting
>	Safety at sea
>	Regulations aboard ship

>	Ropes and knot tying
>	Man-overboard recovery procedure
>	Use of sailing dinghies and board sails
>	Lessons on basic principles of navigation

Lunch

Afternoon Session :

>	Survival at sea training
>	Command Activities
>	Steering of rescue boat
>	Diving from trapeze

(*Training activities to be decided by the Coxswain)

Return Journey

Disembarkation

Day 1

Morning Session :

>	Use of sailing dinghies and board sails

- At Anchor Activities

> Survival at sea training

> Command Activities

> Steering of rescue boat

> Diving from trapeze

(*Training activities to be decided by the Coxswain)

Dinner

>	Dinner preparation (BBQ can be arranged)

Evening Session :

>	General activites supervised by the group leader
>	Briefing on "Anchor Watch" by Senior Coxswain

Anchor Watch (11 pm to 7 am)

>	Groups take turns for "Anchor Watch"

Day 2

Morning Session I

>	Wash
>	Morning exercises
>	Morning dip

Breakfast

Morning Session II

>	Continue "At Anchor" activities

Lunch

Return Journey

>	Clean the vessel <JC Huan>
